| DarkForce has decided to leave FreeQuest without any prior notice. All issues have been sorted out, but we are still looking for more good servers to add to our fine network! If you know how to code and would like to contribute, please go to code.freequest.net and read more! We are also looking for a web designer who wants to redesign freequest.net for free, since we cannot pay anything. As another sidenote, all our servers are sponsored either by a company our staff members is employed at, or by the individuals who run them. Enjoy our free services! :) |

| We have removed all irc.* pools until the attacks stop. In case this doesn't help, we may need to find another way of running FreeQuest. If you have any information at all about these attacks, please let an oper know about it! |

| New look on code.freequest.net (yes, it's looked that for quite some time now). desolace.* is perm delinked. twimp.* is permlinked, and so is norinett.* (however, it will be replaced with nordby.*). If you have any servers to offer, or other skills (see code.freequest.net!) please do not hesitate to let us know! Our IPv6 servers are kinda stable, but the tunnel providers may experience some lag or other nasty stuff. |

| Lots of updates, and no time to edit the website. We are now running IPv6 quite stable, no crash or odd behaviour in a long time during the testlinks. We also have some new websites: Our Wiki, a new version of code.freequest.net and we're working on a new version of www.freequest.net. However, the later one takes a bit longer than expected. We have also upgraded services to a newer version supporting the new channel modes. More things to follow, like web administration for Services (No ETA on that, tho). |
| 2005.04.27 22:05 CET - by ph0x |
| We're upgrading some ircds now to add support for new channelmodes and usermodes! Services will also be upgraded to have support for those modes. IPv6 development is in progress, and it may hit the network sometime during the summer. We're also looking for testlinks, and the following is wanted: .us hub/client and .eu client servers. If you have something to offer, please contact a staff member. |

| Tings are happening fast here. Due to the heavily increasing number of users, we're adding more servers. Our max users on every server needs to be increased, so we'll take some servers of the pool later to upgrade them. Sorry for any inconvenience, and thanks for flying FreeQuest! ;) |

| Lots of news! We now have +q as usermodes, which hides your host. We also have +S on channels, which only allows SSL enabled clients to join that channel. Our services has been upgraded to allow linked nicks and other languages. If you're interrested in translating services to your language, please let us know! Also, our testserver destiny-c.test.freequest.net is know known as destiny.se.freequest.net and permanently linked to FreeQuest! Lots of stuff are happening behind the scenes, expect more improvements and news within 1-2 months. |

| norrland.* is down due to relocation, it'll be up in a few weeks as a testlink, since it will be on a new ISP and have new hardware. Our next big release of the new version of our ircd is getting closer, and it will feature nice things such as umode +q (hostmangling) and +I/+e channelmodes. |

| We had a quite large outage yesterday, this was a cause of Helsingborg City Network that went down. We are making some changes to prevent this type of outages in the future, or atleast to minimize the effects of one. We've also got a testnet up and running, stay tuned for an address to connect to! |

| norrland-t.* has been granted permlink, and will be known as norrland.se.freequest.net after patrik has finished the servermaintanance this saturday. We now also require that you have identified to a registered nickname to access the /LIST command, this change is to prevent automated spambots which checks /LIST to see which channels to spam. Plans for the next ircd release is also being discussed, suggestions should be sent to ph0x@freequest.net! |

| As some of you might have noticed, we have two new
servers granted for testlink, irc-1.tkdforum.* and irc-2.tkdforum.*. Theese
servers are run by tillberg for www.tkdforum.se and will have their own
webchat. Servernames are just temporary and will be changed soon. fry.* will
soon return, but just as an test to port bahamut-inet6 for FreeQuest.
fry-c.* will be run behind coding-c.* and will be unreachable for the
outside world. sigma-t.* has been delinked temporary, due to some issues
with the location of the server. It might return later, but we're not sure
about that. |

| Swedens largest ISP, Telia, went down for three hours and
rendered our network unusable. We lost DNS, Services, Webchat and servers.
This has never happened before in Telias history, and lets hope it doesn't
happen again. We are sorry for this, but it was out of our hands. We
estimate to be back with full power around 16.00 CET. |
| 2003.06.16 20:30 CET - by ph0x |
| fry.* went down around noon on saturday. This is because
the one that hosted it had to move and couldn't run it anymore. Furthermore,
sigma-t.* has some problems and are most likely to face a termination of its
testlink.
|
| 2003.06.05 11:00 CET - by ph0x |
| Today coding-c.* returned to the network. This is not
a public server and is only used for testing new features and
developmentcode for our ircd. We have a few features we plan to introduce
in the future, like SSL support for clients. However, this will not likely
happen within 1-2months, so bare with us. A few improvements on our
serverpage has also been introduced. Enjoy! |
| 2003.06.05 11:00 CET - by ph0x |
| We have granted a testlink for sigma-t.*, which is hosted
by tipx. Let's wait and see how well it performs, we all wish him the best
of luck with it! |

| AntiMoon has choosen to close his server due to several
reasons, and it will be missed. AntiMoon run nerd.* and it will soon be shut
down and the DNS for it will be replaced. Joe is also closing down his
server, royal.*, but the reason here is that the shellaccount will soon
expire, and he doesn't feel he can afford running an ircd anymore. Both
theese servers will be missed, however, the admins are more than welcome to
stay with us as "slaves" on another server. |
| 2003.04.15 11:46 CET - by ph0x |
| daviden has left the internet. We do not know when, or if, he's coming back. Our thoughs are with him and we wish him our best. ph0x has taken over the position as webdesigner/webmaster. |
